# Ashby

Our Ashby integration allows you to seamlessly connect jobs and candidates to Alex, syncing data between both platforms. This integration helps you automate interview invites and streamline your recruitment workflow.

### Set up the Integration

To connect your Ashby account, you will need to retrieve an API key from Ashby and add it to your Alex settings.

1. Log into Ashby using an Admin account.
2. Navigate to **Admin → API Keys**.
3. Click **+ New** to create a new API key.
4. Copy the generated API key.
5. In the Alex web app, go to **Settings** from the left-hand navigation menu.
6. Under Settings, open the **Integrations** section and select **Ashby**.
7. Paste the API key into the **Ashby API Key** field.
8. Click **Test Connection** to verify the key is working correctly.
9. If the connection is successful, click **Connect** to save your credentials.

### How the Integration Works

Once connected, you can leverage several features to keep your hiring process in sync.

* **Data Syncing**: Keep your candidate data aligned across both platforms.
  * Notes are automatically added to a candidate's Ashby profile when key interview events happen, such as when a candidate is invited or completes an interview.
  * A PDF of the completed interview report is automatically uploaded to the candidate's file attachments in Ashby.
* **Automations**: Configure workflows in Alex to trigger actions in Ashby.
  * **Automatic Interview Creation**: Automatically create and configure interviews in Alex when new jobs are added or updated in Ashby.
  * **Automatic Candidate Invites**: Automatically invite candidates to an Alex interview when they are associated with a job in Ashby.
  * **Stage Updates**: Automatically change a candidate's interview stage in Ashby based on their progress or results in their Alex interview.
