Zoom is an optional part of Coordinator, Alex’s interview-scheduling product. Coordinator runs on a connected calendar (Google or Microsoft) and defaults to a Google Meet or Teams link; connect Zoom only if you’d rather Alex create and record Zoom meetings instead.
Overview
Alex uses a meeting bot to join Zoom calls and record meetings. When a meeting is scheduled with Alex, the bot joins as a participant to capture the conversation for later review and processing. How It Works
- Bot Joins - When a Zoom meeting starts, Alex’s bot joins as a participant. The bot name is configurable but defaults to “Alex.”
- Recording - The bot records the audio and video of the meeting in real time.
- Processing - After the meeting ends, the recording is processed and made available in your Alex dashboard for review, scoring, and sharing.
Using the Integration
Once the Zoom integration is connected, here’s how to use it day-to-day:- Create a Zoom link - When recording an external meeting, click Create Zoom Link to generate a meeting link directly from Alex. You can also paste an existing Zoom link.
- Schedule or join now - Choose to have the bot join immediately or schedule it for a later time. If your calendar is connected, Alex will also send calendar invites and automatically detect reschedules.
- During the meeting - The bot joins as a participant and records the conversation. No manual action is needed from the host or participants.
- After the meeting - The recording and transcript are available in your Alex dashboard under the corresponding interview session. You can review, share, and score the interview from there.
- Bot behavior - The bot joins as a signed-in Zoom user, so it bypasses waiting rooms automatically. It does not interact during the call — it only observes and records.
